The National Sixth Form Careers Summit is a special one-day event for Heads of Sixth Form, Directors of University Admissions and Heads of Careers from schools & colleges across the UK.
Why is the Summit being held?
Today's Sixth Form students are facing the most difficult graduate job market in a generation.
Graduate vacancies at the UK's leading employers have been cut by almost a quarter over the past three years.
And recent Government employment data shows that fewer than half of new graduates now find a full-time graduate-level job within 15 months of graduation.
The Summit will provide the very latest news, research, information and guidance on the graduate job market, to help sixth-formers choose the right course, the right university – or the right degree apprenticeship – in order to be successful in securing graduate employment at the end of their degree.
Who will be at the Summit?
The Summit is bringing together graduate & degree apprenticeship employers from a wide range of professions & occupations – including investment banking, accountancy, technology, consulting, engineering and business & management – to enable schools & sixth form colleges hear first-hand how Year 12 & 13 students can begin preparing for the graduate job market ahead.
Employers taking part in the Summit include the Army, Barclays, BDO, Capgemini, Civil Service Fast Stream, Deloitte, Deutsche Bank, Dyson and IBM, and the event is being supported by City & Guilds.
The Summit will be hosted by Martin Birchall, Editor of The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers and The Sixth Formers' Guide to Degree Apprenticeships.
